Favourite Home Education Books :

1.play with fire. definitely, we’ve done that. we have a real fire at home and a firepit in the garden.
2. pocket knife. yep. a traditional swiss pocket knife. they open things with it, carve wood with it, dig with it…
3. throw a spear. does a blunt javellin count? Or a staff? they’re always hurling those across the lawn and field!
4.dismantling stuff? Yep. My 15 year old has a huge collect of various metallic bits and pieces salvaged from ripping apart any electrical item that is being disposed of.
5.drive a car. yep. at 10 & 12 they were driving dad’s car around the field. They driven a tractor too.
SO.. we’ve done all of that and more. They climb trees, swordfight with sticks, wade in streams, camp out, build campfires… my 15 year old has learnt to handle an axe well, use a saw, and fry eggs on a bonfire.
